Digital Television in Australia

[0]Introduction[0]

Welcome to the Digital Television in Australia website. This is not an official website.

Digital Television is the next evolution of Television. Consider the difference between vinyl records and compact discs. The former used waveforms, the latter converts these to a digital sequence of zeros and ones. Similarly, television currently uses analog waveforms to describe a signal, but in the future it will use a digital sequence. This site is mostly concerned with Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting (DTTB), ie. the application of Digital TV for use in broadcasting "over the air", and its introduction in Australia.

I hope that you will find the information here useful and accurate. Although much of the information dates from 2001 and I'm now in the process of updating it, it should still be reasonably accurate.
